Images on MathDelights.org

Many of the photographs and other images on MathDelights.org come from other websites and are used by permission. This page describes how we use images. If you're contributing an image, we ask that you either send us a simple email message to give us permission -- or, if you wish, you may complete the permission form at the end of this page and send it by email or fax.

How we use images

We copy images from sources around the Internet. If the image isn't in the public domain or doesn't have a license like Creative Commons, we only use the image after obtaining permission.

Unless the owner requests otherwise, we copy images to the MathDelights.org web server and serve them from here. (This protects the image owner's web server from loading by Math Delights visitors.) We may edit images -- reduce the size, crop off parts, possibly add titles or other graphics -- unless the owner asks us not to.

We're happy to add a credit line with each image that lists the original owner's name, a link to the website where the image came from, or whatever other requests the owner makes that we're able to fulfill.

Granting permission to use your image

If you're donating an image to MathDelights.org, please either:

• send an email message with any questions or requests you have, or
• send the detailed permission form below (print it and fax it, or copy and paste it into an email message).
