Hamburger Game
Adapted from Big Mac activity that Stephanie Englehaupt shared with me.
The object of the game is to make a paper hamburger.
Materials: 2 or 3 dice and one set of hamburger pieces for each player
- Color each of your hamburger pieces. Assign these values to each piece:
- 12-Bottom of Bun
- 10-Top of Bun
- 9-Cheese
- 8-Special Sauce
- 7-Pickle
- 6-Mustard
- 5-Tomato
- 4-Onion
- 3-Lettuce
- 2-Meat Patty
- 1-Ketchup
- Take turns rolling 2 or 3 dice. Using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division of the numbers on the dice, the first player computes a value that's associated with a piece of the hamburger and selects that piece. The other players repeat the process in turn with their own pieces.
For children who aren't adept at subtraction, multiplication, or division, use Carr Phillips' modification — roll all 3 dice, compute their sum. Then pick food items whose values add up to the sum.
