Got Your Number
Materials: Deck of cards (excluding 10, J, Q, and K), pencil and paper
Level A
- Shuffle the 39 cards.
- Deal 5 cards to each player.
- Pick 3 cards that sum to a number near 20.
- Compute your score. Your score is the absolute difference between your total and the number 20.
- Repeat the game 7 times and add up all your scores.
- Compare your total score with those of the other players.
- The lowest total score wins.
Level B
- Shuffle the cards.
- Deal 9 cards to each player.
- Pick 6 cards.
- Make two 2-digit numbers from any four of your cards, e.g., with the cards 3 4, 5, and 6 you can create the numbers 34 and 65, or 35 and 46.
- Arrange the numbers and add them up so that their sum is 100 or close to it.
- Compute your score. Your score is the absolute difference between your total and the number 20.
- Repeat the game 7 times and add up all your scores.
- Compare your total score with those of the other players.
- The lowest total score wins.
